Sautter, Katherine
On May 20, 2012 Katherine (Tap) Sautter. Beloved daughter of the late Edward G. and Eva (nee Blottenberger) Sautter. Dear sister of Evelyn Szczeszek, Edward W. Sautter, Janice A. Howard, and the late George Sautter Sr., Marie Zeller, Elaine Lembach, LaVerne Gemmell and James W. Sautter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Katherine was born on February 4, 1919, the second child of Edward and Eva Sautter in South Baltimore were she resided for the next 87 years.
In her early years she worked as a mail opener at Montgomery Ward & Co. and later worked for many years as a day care teacher, first at Patterson Memorial Methodist Church and later at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. This job was a perfect fit for her as she loved children.
Through the years she has been accused of having her favorites in the family, but truth be told she has spoiled and doted on all the children in the family.
She had a kind heart and endeared herself to all who knew her. Her life centered around the church and she saw that her younger siblings went to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt, and she will be greatly missed.
