Katherine (Katie) Rose O’Neill, age 19 of Fairfield, beloved daughter of Paul X. O’Neill and the late Maureen Gerrity, passed away tragically along with her mother Monday, March 10, 2014. Born in Boston, MA, Katie had been a Fairfield resident for the last 14 years. She was currently in her senior year at Fairfield Warde High School. Katie was a fun-loving and joyous girl. She loved music and attending all kinds of musicals especially on Broadway, and also loved watching movies and musicals on TV. She loved adaptive skiing and won a gold medal in the Special Olympics in that event. She and her dad would often go skiing in New Hampshire, a trip she always delighted in. Katie was born with Angelman Syndrome and she and her dad would attend many Angelman Syndrome benefits throughout the Northeast, mostly in Massachusetts. Katie will be so dearly missed by all her loved her. Survivors in addition to her loving father include her step-mother Brenda O’Neill; a sister, Brigette O’Neill; a grandfather William Gerrity of Trumbull; aunts, Kitty Robertson and husband Dan of Fairfield, and Lorena O’Neill of Wellington, FL; uncles, William Gerrity of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Peter O’Neill and his wife Caroline of Boca Raton, FL; several cousins including a dear cousin Jack Conrad of Stamford, CT. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Catherine Gerrity and paternal grandparents, Paul X. O’Neill, Sr. and Phyllis O’Neill.
