Mrs. Katherine Jackson Sims, 94, of 1710 Oberlin Dr., died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Westchester Manor.
Mrs. Sims was born on April 17, 1917 in Guilford County to the late Talmadge and Alma Charles Jackson. A lifelong resident of the Florence Community, she was a faithful member of Turners Chapel A.M.E. Church, and attended until her health failed. She was employed and retired from the Guilford County School system as a cafeteria employee.
Additionally to her parents, husband, Fate Thomas Sims; son, Curtis Talmadge Jackson; brother, Dewhitt Jackson; four sisters, Ruth Jones, Maude Jones, Frances Alexander and Juanita Jackson; granddaughter, Joyce Lynette Spencer, and great grandson Lateaf Patrick Dumas.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Jean Spencer and Kay Sims MacDonald both of High Point; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
