Katherine Elizabeth Hunt Byrd, 54, of Martinsville, VA, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Reidsville, NC. Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 20, 1957, she was a daughter of Katherine Lewis Hunt of Stoneville, NC and Edward Vincent Hunt, III of Martinsville. Mrs. Byrd was employed as an Administrative Assistant to Commissioner of Accounts with Jim Ford, Attorney at Law office in Martinsville. She was a member of the New Life Community Church, Ridgeway. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Bernard Ray Byrd of the home; sister, Melody H. Shockley of Eden, NC; brothers, Edward Vincent Hunt, IV of Knightdale, NC and Joseph Scott Hunt of West Columbia, SC; aunt; uncle; numerous nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews.
