Katherine Diab passed away quietly and in her sleep in the early morning hours of April 6th. In the late 1960s and the 1970s she was the editor of the JACKSON News and could be seen with her legal pad taking detailed notes at all the public meetings in town. She had a dual role of photographer and would be seen additionally at festivals, events and at the scene of traffic accidents with her trusty Polaroid camera.

The photos would instantly appear ready for publication along with the stories she wrote to go with them. She also wrote a weekly column called Adlibs which included little pieces of gossip to entertain the locals. Later she worked for the Jackson School System and was in charge of coordinating the Adult School Program until she retired. Katherine also served on the PTA for many years while her children were in school and could be seen on Saturdays manning the refreshment stand at the high school football games.

Additionally through the years she served on the Planning Board, the Historical Society, the Zoning Board and was a founding member of the Jackson Memorial High School Scholarship Committee. She also served on the Board of Education and was instrumental in getting a referendum passed for funding to build the Goetz school. She is predeceased by her beloved husband John and her brother and sisters as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her sister Virginia CurtI of Bradenton, Fl, her three children, John Diab and wife Sharon, Richard Diab and wife Sharon and daughter Alida D Weisfeld and her husband Barry, her six grandchildren, Jennifer Wade and her husband John, Rich Diab and wife Marissa, John Diab and wife Melinda, Jeff Diab and wife Dena, Kristi Diab and Kenny Diab and wife Jazmin and her 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandson as well as her nieces and nephews.
