Details: Katherine “Meal” A. Compton, 91, a 5 year resident of Denton, MD and formerly of the Lomardee Beach area of Glen Burnie since 1936. She died November 16, 2009 at the Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD. She was born in S. Baltimore to Walter F. and Marie Chambers. Mrs. Compton was a homemaker and a member of the Solley United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lombardee Beach Vol. Fire Department. She enjoyed bowling, needle point, camping, and traveling with her husband. She was married to the late George E. Compton. She is survived by 2 daughters Marie “Rea” C. Smith and her husband “Smitty” of Denton and Patricia “Patsy” T. Clawson and her husband Joe of Crownsville, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Compton is preceded in death by her brother William Chambers and her sisters Thelma Doehing and Carrie Gurnee.
