Karlene A. Rasmussen, 61, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at her home.
Karlene Ann Rasmussen was born on December 10, 1944, in Harlan, Iowa, to Chris and Lula (Boeck) Rasmussen.
She graduated from Harlan High School and attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville, Missouri. After school she lived numerous places, but has lived in Atlantic since 1987.
Karlene worked for Ohio Casualty Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa, and as a librarian in Danville, Virginia. She was very proud of her volunteer work she did for Project Hope on the ship in Northeast Brazil.
She belonged to the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.
Karlene is survived by her son Troy Baker and his wife, Kathie of Atlantic; daughter Lisa Baker Beckman and her husband, Thad of O’Fallon, Missouri; sister Karen Alldredge and her husband, Enis of Kansas City, Missouri; brother Franklin Rasmussen and his wife, Donna of Harlan, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Karlene was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Rasumussen.
