Karleen Klein Davis Theobald died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was 89.
Karleen was born in Harriston, Mississippi, on September 23, 1925.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pierre “Bobby” Theobald; her parents Harold Ray and Elizabeth Klein Reeder Davis; and her son, Bruce Klein Theobald.
After graduating from St. Francis Xavier Academy, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Mrs. Theobald attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas.
On January 7, 1951, she married Robert Pierre Theobald. The couple moved to Fayette, Mississippi, and started a cattle ranch.
In 1958, the Theobalds returned to Vicksburg. In 1988, they moved to the Eagle Lake Community.
In addition to raising her four children, she had an additional love — animals. As a result, Mrs. Theobald was one of the founders of the Warren County Humane Society.
Mrs. Theobald is survived by her daughter, Sherry Alene Theobald Smith and her husband, Winfrey Haden Smith, of Brandon; Robert Davis Theobald of Washington, DC; and Gregory Pierre Theobald and his wife,Deborah, of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Shane Smith, Ashley Theobald, Lindsey Theobald, Adam Theobald, Christopher Theobald, Selena Bullard and Christi Dyess; eight great-grandchildren, Mari Miller Theobald, Jackson Klein Dickerson, John Davis Dickerson, Hunter Theobald, Adri Bullard Rogers, Brie Dyess, Amelia Bullard, and Addison Blair Dyess; and her daughter-in-law, Dette Theobald Vedros of Vicksburg.
