KARL ZAHTILLA, age 91, passed away June 1, 2023.
Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Longo). Dearest father of Deborah Cazares (Fernando), Carl (Sharon), and Bob (Sherri). Dear grandfather of six, great-grandfather of eight. Brother of Nick (Carol) and Paul (deceased)(Janelle).
Music was his life and he entertained audiences since he was a kid. As a US Army Veteran, Karl played for the troops during the Korean War in the Army band. Throughout his life, he played with many great local and national musicians, famous artists and traveled the country. As Sammy Davis Jr would say “One Cool Cat.”
He loved music, family, friends, going on road trips, playing cards, and staying in shape. He lived a good long life and unfortunately played his last gig.
