Karl Hayes Yeager, 84, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully Monday, January 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness. 
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn; daughters Sherri Wisener (Jeff), Kelly Carter (John), Karen Stephens (Rocky), son Jeff Yeager (Stephanie), all of Huntsville, AL; Uncle David Hayes of Mobile, AL; Sister Sarah Yeager Dupree (Gerald) of Monrovia, AL; 6 grandchildren; Jessica Wisener Tice, Jared Wisener, Morgan Stephens, Jake Stephens, John Carter IV, and Anna Yeager; and 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by parents, K.W. and Janie Yeager of Huntsville, AL and sister Janie Ruth Hendrix of Weaver, AL. 
Karl was born December 22, 1936 in Tuscaloosa, AL and moved to Huntsville in 1944. He married Carolyn Valentine’s Day 1961. He was a faithful member of Flint River Primitive Baptist Church in Brownsboro for 73 years. He worked for Teledyne Brown Engineering 40 years before retiring in 1999.  He retired as a Lt. Col. from the Alabama National Guard with 42 years of service.  He dedicated much time as a founding member of the Huntsville Land Trust, board member of the Alabama Space and Rocket Center, the Huntsville Child Advocacy Center as well as participating with many other civic organizations.
