Karl Burton of Pinson went to be with his Lord on the 7th day on August 2012, at the age of 77 after an 8 month battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Madeline; his daughter, Debra Armstrong (Robert); son, Kenneth Burton (Lisa); daughter, Deann Brasher (Brian), daughter, Kara Burton (Alex); 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Theodore Burton. Karl was retired from Jefferson County Roads and Transportation Department. He also served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was pre-deceased by his father, Theodore; mother, Gladys; sisters, Mary Ann Goldsmith, Helen May McCann, and Geneva McQueen.
