Karin A. Strelnieks-O’Brien, 45, passed away February 25, 2013 in Canon City, Colorado. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 10, 1967 to Andris and Loretta (Schultz) Strelnieks. Karin attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from Pueblo Community College (PCC) in 2001. She was united in marriage to Alan J. O’Brien on July 24, 2009 in Salida, CO. She worked as physical therapy assistant, a rafting guide, and ski instructor. Karin enjoyed fishing along with skiing and rafting. She had a real love for the outdoors. Karin is survived by her husband, Alan; her parents; brother, Dr. Erik Strelnieks; sister-in-law, Beth Strelnieks; uncles John Strelnieks, Vilnis Strelnieks, and Monty Peffley; and aunt Maria Peffley.
