Karen was born on May 22, 1952 to Melvin Burkhart and Betty (Smithey) Burkhart. She was a 1970 graduate of Center Grove High School. Karen was a professional dog groomer for 38 years. She enjoyed spending her free time with family and friends, she loved dogs and doing crossword puzzles.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and brother-in-law, Jerry Harting. Survivors include her sister, Rita Harting, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
