Karen Schulte, 64, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 18, 1955, in Breese, the daughter of Alvin Renschen and Johanna (Kues) Renschen.

She married Maurice “Marty” Schulte on May 2, 1975, and he survives in Centralia.

In addition to her husband of 44 years, Maurice “Marty” Schulte of Centralia, she is also survived by two sons: Dan Schulte and wife Mistie of Montgomery, Texas and Mike Schulte and wife Stacey of Heath, Texas; eight grandchildren: Chloe, Katelyn, Kinsley, Charley, Reagan, Jilian, Makayla, and Sydney; four brothers and three sisters: David Renschen and wife Shirley of Ormond Beach, Florida, Judy Woltering and husband Matt of Jamestown, Illinois, Rita Tebbe of St. Rose, Illinois, Andre Renschen and wife Diane of League City, Texas, Mark Renschen and wife Brenda of Breese, Gary Renschen and wife Helen of Carlyle, Illinois, and Lisa Renschen of Tahoe City, California; numerous stepbrothers and sisters and also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Reschen and Johanna (Kues) Von Hatten, stepfather, Victor Von Hatten, three sisters: Mary Lou Renschen, Jane Engbloom, and Donna Renschen, and father and mother-in-law: Leo and Clara Schulte. Karen worked as a cook at Kaskaskia College for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking and knitting. Karen cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
