Karen Ann Brewington, our beloved woman of great faith, love and strength, known as Pastor Kitt, entered eternally into the presence of the Lord on December 7, 2011.

Pastor Kitt was born a twin of Marjorie Virginia and Frank Lee Wade on May 16, 1960 in St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York. Her schooling began in the District 8 and Central 7 Public School System in New York and continued in the Montgomery County Public School System when her parents moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland in 1973. She graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1978 with Honors, and was especially known for her talent and skill as a musician/singer/songwriter which began in early adolescence. Music was always an integral part of Pastor Kitt’s life. From high school, she went on to further her education at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. She graduated with a degree in Business and a minor in English. However, it was there that she met the “love of her life” Elmond Dwayne Brewington whom she married in 1984.

Pastor Kitt served as Pastor of Victory Christian Church International (VCCI) of Gaithersburg, Maryland for 19 years, along with her husband, Pastor Dwayne Brewington. The vision for their church is taken from 1 Timothy 2:4, “that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth”. Together the Brewington’s produced a weekly television broadcast, Victorious Living Today, which can be seen throughout the United States.

Pastor Kitt was the Executive Director of Victory Christian Church International, leading a fulltime and volunteer staff in the daily operations of the ministry. She served as the Minister of Music, writing, arranging, and directing the Praise and Worship Team, Choir, and Band. Pastor Kitt was also an accomplished recording artist. Her CD “Everything To Me” recorded live at VCCI with her praise team, “Victorious Praise” is still available today. She also recorded a CD for children “Kidz Faith Songs featuring Ms. Melody” which was produced by Dr. Creflo & Taffi Dollar.

Pastor Kitt served as the President of the Virtuous Women’s Conference International, under the direction of Founder, Pastor Cynthia Brazelton. In addition, Pastor Kitt served as the Executive Director of VCCI’s Extraordinay Woman’s Ministry, empowering and motivating women to reach higher, run faster, and go farther than they ever thought possible. Pastor Kitt was an exciting conference speaker, and she taught and preached the Word of God with power and authority. She believed it was our blood bought right as children of God, to walk in VICTORY!

Pastor Kitt is survived by her husband, Elmond Dwayne Brewington, son Alexander, mother-in-law Janess C. Felton, sister Rykke Overton, twin Kim Wade, niece Lorelle Wade, nephew Baron Felton, great-nieces Jazmine Wade and Kaiya Wade and a host of family members, friends, and her VCCI church family of whom she became “Mom”. Pastor Kitt loved God with all her being. She will be “surely” remembered as a woman of great faith, love and strength – a woman after God’s own heart. “She has surely entered into the presence of the Lord….Glory!
