Karen Maria Gant was born July 20, 1958 in Seattle, WA to Jack and Edris Harbeston. Karen grew up in Bellevue, WA.
In 1985 met John Gant who quickly became the love of her life. That same year, John and Karen married and moved to Newport News, VA due to John’s commitment to serve his country through the U.S. Army. After a few years, John became ill and received a medical discharge so they decided to move to Boise Idaho to be closer to family. Sadly, John passed away in 1992 leaving Karen with four young children to raise on her own.
While Karen was primarily a stay at home mom, she achieved a goal of earning her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Boise State University and for a period worked with troubled juveniles, doing her best to make a positive difference in their lives.
She is survived by her parents Jack and Edris Harbeston, her sisters, Toni (Gunzer), Teri (Roxburgh), and Kathy (Regan), her brother, Mike, her children Tynesha (Sett), Chad, Ryan, and Whitney, and her grandchildren who brought immense joy to Karen’s life, Anthony, Chase, and Vivienne.
Karen is now wrapped in the warmth and love of the Holy Spirit and will forever be remembered.
