Karen M. White, age 58, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born on September 21, 1952 in Bridgeport, daughter of Ethel Skibek and the late Sigismund J. Skibek. Karen received her Associate’s degree in 1982 from Housatonic Community College and then her Bachelor’s degree in 1986 from Sacred Heart University. Since 1989 she worked as a certified public accountant specializing in tax preparation for over 30 years.
Karen was very active in her community. She was a member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce, The Network of Executive Women Inc., in Milford, member and past president of the American Singles Golf Association and coordinated the Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure; and a member of the Milford Senior Center.
In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her sister Edna Young of West Haven; nieces and nephews Kenneth Young of California, Dawn Klein and her husband Scott of Florida, Cindy Young of West Haven and Gary Tarantino of East Haven; great nieces and nephews Kayla and Michael Tarantino of East Haven, Sandra and Ashley Klein of Florida and her dearly loved Ciara Young of West Haven.
