Karen M. Schoenig, 80, of Silver Ridge Park West section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at home with her family by her side. Karen was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and resided in Port Reading, NJ for 41 years before moving to Berkeley Twp. in 2004. Karen was an Inspector for 25 years at Transco, located in Linden, NJ before retiring in 2002.
She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. Karen was a very caring and loving person. She, more than anything else, enjoyed spending her free time with her children, grandchildren, and beloved pets. She was so much fun to be with and her warmth and laughter will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Schoenig, her three children William Schoenig and his wife Kelly of Glen Gardner, NJ, James Schoenig and his wife Ann Marie of Carteret, NJ, Lisa Thomas and her husband Michael of Brick, NJ, six grandchildren Kristin Thorsen and her husband Mike, Corey Schoenig, Rachel Schoenig, Marissa Schoenig, Kayla Thomas, Brandon Thomas, and a great-grandchild, Kayden Grace Thorsen.
