Karen Lynn Helmick
Karen Lynn Helmick, 62, of Whetsell Settlement, Terra Alta, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Preston Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Oakland MD, January 19, 1955, the daughter of Elizabeth Peach Sisler of Terra Alta and the late Harry L. Sisler.
She worked many years as an LPN helping those in need. This was her true calling as she continued helping those in need in many ways after leaving the nursing profession. Karen was a truly caring and selfless individual who would give to others, even if it meant she had nothing left for herself. She loved her grandchildren making many wonderful memories they will cherish forever. She loved the Lord and served him the best as she could.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William “Willy” “Bill” W. Helmick; three sons, William “Bill” Helmick and wife, Cathy and Eric Helmick, all of Whetsell Settlement and Sam Helmick and wife, Melissa of Oklahoma. Karen’s five grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart, Olyvea and Remington Helmick, Madelyn Helmick and Emma and Lexi Helmick; three brothers, Harry Sisler and wife, Brenda and Robert “Bob” Sisler and wife, Candi, all of Whetsell Settlement and Larry Sisler of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Kathy Higgins and husband, Dave of Davis and Mary Sisler of Baltimore, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Owen J. Helmick and her grandmothers and grandfathers.
