Karen Leslie Clayton, 75 of Nutter Fort passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. She was born June 20, 1943 in Clarksburg, WV; the daughter of the late Jackson Boyles and Ruby Swiger Boyles Posey.

Karen is survived by her two sons, Sean Clayton and wife, Missie and Robert Clayton, both of Nutter Fort; one daughter, Wendy Clayton of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Caleb Price of Clarksburg, Wyatt Clayton of Morgantown and Jill McClure of Elkins; two half brothers, Jack Boyles and wife, Mary and Robert Boyles all of Phoenix, AZ.

 

In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Sebert “Zeke” Clayton on November 23, 2010; one grandson, Joshua “J.T.” McClure; one sister, Penny Boyles; and one half sister, Nancy Boyles.

 

Karen graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1961 and Salem College with a Bachelor in Education.  She started her teaching career in Preston County and retired as a Math Teacher in Harrison County, teaching at Roosevelt Wilson, Washington Irving and Robert C Byrd High School with nearly forty total years. Karen loved to read, watch Jeopardy and do Sudoku and Jigsaw puzzles.
