KAREN LEA PHILLIPS, age 57, a resident of Grafton, formerly of Philippi and Glenville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 21, 2010, at the home of her daughter, in Morgantown, after battling ovarian cancer. She was born in Cleveland, OH, April 26, 1953, a daughter of Louella Catherine (Maxwell) Stalnaker who survives, of Glenville, WV, and the late Lyonel Thurman Stalnaker. Mrs. Phillips is a graduate of Gilmer County High School and Glenville State College. She worked in pastoral and secretarial positions most of her life and was a Pastor of the Evansville United Methodist charge. She attended the New Testament Fellowship Church in Grafton where she was very active in church functions. In addition to her mother she is survived by: two daughters, Tiffany N. Newbold and husband Eric, of Morgantown, and Monique B. Warner and husband Josh, of Philippi; one son, Damond E. Phillips and wife Mary, of Belington; two brothers, Gary R. Stalnaker, of Parkersburg, and Kevin W. Stalnaker and wife Sue Ann, of Raleigh, NC; eight grandchildren, Owen C. Newbold, Emmy M. Newbold, Alex G. Newbold, Ethan D. Newbold, Brianna N. Warner, Colby T. Warner, Katielynn N. Warner, and Alyssa L. Phillips; one niece, Michelle L. Stalnaker; two nephews, Matthew W. Stalnaker and Bryson K. Stalnaker; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends will be received at the New Testament Fellowship Church, 1100 West Main Street, Grafton, on Tuesday, from 2 – 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.
