Karen L. Fullerton, 66, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Karen Louise Scott was born on June 26, 1941, in Carroll County, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Violet (Richardson) Scott.
Karen grew up in Coon Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1960. Following graduation she received her CNA certificate and worked in Carroll and Lake View, Iowa.
On August 21, 1967, she married John Fullerton. The couple lived in Omaha, Nebraska, and Griswold and Atlantic, Iowa.
Karen loved to read. She also enjoyed all the time she spent with her sisters, Marge and Joanne. One of the family’s favorite memories of the sisters together was when they went to the Iowa State Fair and saw Wayne Newton.
Karen is survived by a nephew, Jay Jensen and his wife, Amber, and their children, Daniel, Kaitlin and Keaton; another nephew, Michael Nielsen; a niece, Mary Jo May and her husband, Brad, and their children, Kimberly Wendt, Michelle May, Johanna Secl, Seth May, Daniel May and David May; great nieces, Mindy and Christina Nielsen; four great-great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Violet Scott Tuel; stepfather, Reginald Tuel; husband, John Fullerton; sisters, Marge Jensen and Joanne Nielsen and her husband, Emmert Nielsen; brother, Wayne Scott; and nephew, David Nielsen.
