Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin in 1995; 4 brothers, Robert, Gordie, Jack and Lilburn Stanley; and sister, Iris Geurts.
She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, MN.
Karen had worked at the phone company, Spurgions, and Grinnell College. She was involved in the Democratic party in Poweshiek County.
