Ms. Karen Benberry-Wilkins was born on December 29, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the youngest child of the late Walter R. and Mary Frances Clark.
Karen went to IPS School #87 and graduated from Shortridge High School. She worked at General Motors and L. Fish Furniture. In her spare time, she loved home decorating and designing. She could take a small house and turn it into a mini mansion when she was finished with it. Karen also had a passion for clothes, mostly suits and shoes to match She was the best dressed and classiest lady ever. After retiring, Karen was a pretty private person but enjoyed eating out every so often. MCL was one of her favorite restaurants. She also enjoyed reading home improvement magazines, being at home listening to music, watching TV and reading her Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) and doing what it takes to gain her beautiful wings and entrance into the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
Ms. Karen Benberry-Wilkins departed this life to be with the Lord and made her transition on December 17, 2020 at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mable Smith known as “Big Mama”; parents, Walter R. and Mary Frances Clark; sister, Marcia Ferguson and brother, Walter D. Clark.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Tonya E. Murray, Elizabeth K. Wilkins; son, Jason K. Benberry; two granddaughters, Paisley K. Benberry, Maxene N. Wilkins; stepdaughter, Kimberly Peak and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
