Lakeland – Karen Christjansen Meyer Bradt, 76, passed away Wednesday, May 08, 2013, from respiratory failure. Karen was born in Bloomington, IL on July 16, 1936 to Nels and Eloise Mckinstry Christjansen. She lived in Momence, IL until her family moved to Lakeland in 1949. She was a graduate of Lakeland High School, Class of 1954. Karen was employed by Prudential Insurance Company, for 35 years, where she served as district office manager until her retirement.
Karen was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Meyer, beloved husband of 40 years, Raymond Bradt, her parents, and dear brother, J.R. She is survived by her son, William Meyer and his wife, Darci; daughter, Holly Verplanck and her husband, Bill; sisters, Mary Lou Hartley and her husband, Jack; Marta Daniell and her husband, Mark; brother, David Christjansen and his wife, Marian; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
