Karen Christine (Lee) Diauto passed away at her home in Plymouth on October 15, 2021. Karen was one of four children of the late Ruth Thompson and Howard Lee. She was the sister of Pam Lebrek, Rusty Lee and the late Randy Lee. She was born and raised in South Boston before moving to Pembroke where she raised her family. She then later moved to Plymouth where she resided for the last 20 years. Karen was also survived by her beloved children, Joshua Diauto and his wife Maryanne of Kingston, Jeremy Diauto of Marshfield and Jillian Diauto of Randolph. Karen was loved immensely by her four grandchildren, Samantha, Kailee, Zachary and Sydney- who referred to her as “Grama” and “Mia”. Karen’s closest friend was her daughter in law, Maryanne, and the two spent a lot of time together. She also cherished her relationship with her dear friend Sheryl and always looked forward to their phone calls. Karen loved all things simple- the chestnuts that fell in her driveway in autumn, watching the sparrows at her bird feeders, listening to thunderstorms on her porch, the pumpkins that the neighbor a few houses down grew, Hershey’s chocolate bars and any type of beach with a lighthouse. Karen loved all animals – especially her cats. There was never not enough room for “just one more”. She loved hunting for antiques and old Knick knacks to make her home even more cozy. She was also a Boston sports fanatic and loved collecting baseball hats. Karen worked at a bookstore for many years and the library was her getaway- If she didn’t answer you, it probably meant she was indulged in a good book. She loved spending holidays with her family and never failed to make sure everyone, especially her grandkids, had everything they wanted. She will be remembered as nurturing, loving, caring and compassionate beyond belief. Karen will be with us in the sun, the wind, the waves, the storms and the stars. We are forever grateful to have had her as a part of our lives. We love you more.
