Karen Jeannine Boswell, 77, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. She leaves many family members and friends who will sadly miss her. She resided in Niceville, FL.

Karen is survived by her husband, COL James W. Boswell, USAF (Ret), whom she was married to for 56 years, as well as their five children: Mark, Matthew (Genet), Christopher, Laura (Nick Bucci), and Patrick (Melissa), and nine grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her sisters, Nancy and Patty Matus.

Karen, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Matus, was born in Cleveland, OH, on October 15, 1943. Her father was in the Air Force and Karen grew up moving across the United States and Spain. After high school, she met her husband, James, when her family was stationed in Spain. The two of them met during a college class.  Karen and James spent their lives moving around the United States and overseas in Germany and England before their final duty assignment at Eglin Air Force Base in Niceville, FL, where they resided permanently.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her passions were quilting, sewing, painting, pottery, basket making, stained glass, and teaching others these crafts.  When not crafting you could find her in the kitchen cooking. While busy raising five kids, she found the time to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
