Our loved daughter, sister and granddaughter, Kami (KJ) Hayes, followed the angels up the stairway to heaven on December 29, 2019.
Kami was born in Tooele, Utah to Decca Christine Cunningham and Mark Christopher Hayes on October 3rd, 1983.
Kami’s passions are many, from drawing, painting and tattoos, to writing, singing and a general love for life. She loved to laugh and make jokes, or act goofy to get everyone laughing. She loved nature and all living things, while having grown up going camping and fishing. Throughout her entire life she’s had a fascination for bringing home critters of all types, from cats to lizards, maybe even a bird or two.
Above all, Kami’s truest love has always been to help others, especially her family and friends, who are the most important things to her. She’d always do small things like helping to build gardens around her home, and even life altering things such as helping her mother take on guardianship of her cousins and gave them a safe haven after the passing of her uncle. She simply wanted happiness and good things for everyone, and tried to help even when she couldn’t.
Kami is proceeded in death by her grandmother and namesake Donna Jean Flackman; uncles: Dana William Flackman and Jerry Ivie; nephews: Richard Wayne Flackman III, Steven Deloy Flackman and Jacob Releford; her great uncles and grandparents; and furbaby: Petie Hayes.
She is survived by her parents: Decca Christine Cunningham (Don) and Mark Christopher Hayes (Stacey); five siblings: Christopher M. Petsche, Scharee N. Cunningham, Trevor Jones, Terran (Chase) Ford and Trisstyn Hayes; grandparents: Richard W and Eleonore Flackman Sr.; uncle: Richard W. Flackman Jr.; aunt: Deborah L. Ivie; furbabies: Ellie (age 10) and Grayson (age 14); as well as many cousins and friends.
