Kalikokha “Kali” Khanga, Age 50, passed Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Kali, was a family man in every sense of the word. A graduate of Wilberforce University in Ohio, married to his wife Marie of 23 years. After a traumatic injury during surgery in 2008, Kali became her caretaker and dedicated his life to making sure she had everything she needed and was always properly cared for. Marie was his heart, his life and his best friend. Kali leaves behind  children, grandchildren, family and friends, who will always love and miss him.

Kali, was a great businessman and a was a naturally born musician who loved playing the bass guitar. He could play any instrument and sing beautifully. He often made fun of himself that, “I don’t read notes but I can hear any music and be able to play it exactly” and he was right! Self deprecation was one of his characteristics. He loved all kinds of music but the genre he had most affinity for was reggae music. He loved reggae music from his younger days and his friends nicknamed him “Rebel” because of his passion and love for roots reggae music. In his heart, Kali was about peace, love and justice which are the themes and messages that are often associated with roots reggae music. While in Columbus Ohio, he enjoyed going to reggae concerts and live shows. Through these shows he made a lot of music loving friends and helped influence aspirations of others, including his nieces and nephews who formed the Reggae band Lung Vybz.

Kali was devoted to God. He read the Bible and prayed every day. Life with him seems too short to many but Kali would remind us that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity time in which one lives. God loved him more. May he Rest In Peace!!
