Justin Jay Koval, 26, of Lacon, died January 6, at his home.
He was born November 23, 1980 in Spring Valley to James and Carol (Westerlund) Koval. He worked as a bricklayer for Triple J Masonry in Metamora. He graduated from Putnam County High School and attended IVCC and Northern Illinois University. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #6.
He is survived by: his fianc, Amanda Griffin of Lacon; his parents, of Magnolia; paternal grandmother, Louise Koval of Streator; 3 stepsons, Joseph, Ryan, and Connor Buis of Lacon; 3 brothers, James Koval, Jr. of Galesburg, Jon (Lisa) Koval of East Peoria, Joel Koval of Auburn, Wash; 4 sisters, Jamie (Rick) Casolari of Lostant, Jodi (Tony) DeSkeere of Hackensack, MINN, Jerri Koval of Granville, and Jennifer (Jim) Wellenreiter of Magnolia; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by grandparents.
