Junior Clyde Boughton, 68, of Galesburg, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at home. Junior was born March 7, 1950, in Travelers Rest, SC, the son of Clyde and Edna Marie (Coleman) Boughton. He married Jaylene S. Hoyle on March 21, 1991, in East Galesburg. Junior is survived by his wife, Jaylene of Galesburg; two sons, Lonnie Hoyle of Abingdon and Rick (Jenny) Boughton of Monmouth; two daughters, Sandy Boughton of Viola and Carol (James) Davis of Galesburg; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Junior is also survived by two brothers, Roy and Ray Boughton both of Galesburg; and one sister, Judy (Johnnie) Rogers of Pelzer, SC. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marci McClendon; eight brothers and sisters. Junior served in the US Army. He went on to work at several different places in the Galesburg area, retiring from Olson’s Packaging in 2015. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Galesburg. Junior enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and mudslinging. He also enjoyed watching movies, especially war, western, and horror movies. He was an excellent shade tree mechanic.
