June York Staten, age 74, of Dalton, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 2, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenza York and Hattie Owens York and loving husband Bobby Durham Staten. June was a retired teacher and taught many third-grade students over the years. She always remembered her students and had great passion for teaching. In the summers she loved to host her teacher friends. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and loved working with the children. June is survived by her son, Robert Staten (Natalie Preston), Rosemary Beach, FL and grandchildren, Elisabeth, Julianne, and Wesley Staten. She has many loving nephews and nieces who enjoyed spending summers at her house.
