June Presthus, age 96, of Algona, passed away on Thursday November 28, 2019 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Wilma June Presthus, the daughter of William and Nellie (Harvey) Gifford, was born on April 11, 1923 in Lone Rock, Iowa. On March 31, 1941 June was united in marriage with Lawrence Presthus at June’s parent’s home near Lone Rock. June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family, reading and baking, especially pies, Christmas cookies and lefse. Left to cherish June’s memory are her daughters, Mary Lou Marlow and her husband Bud of Lone Rock and Nancy Kissner and her husband Jerry of Spirit Lake; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Roseann Gifford of Milford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a great great granddaughter, Iris Kissner; brothers, James, Lyle and Billy Gifford; and sisters, Anita Marlow, Arlene Marlow and Phyllis Gifford.
