June Marie Russo, 84, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. June was a great lady, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her presence blessed everyone who knew was born in Boston to the late Peter and Florence (MacDonald) Campbell. She was graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1953 and attended art school in Boston. From the moment she laid eyes on her future husband, Louis Russo of Boston, she knew that he was “the one” and they remained together for over 65 years. June and Louis married in 1955 and raised their two children in Hyde Park and worked as a dietician’s aide at Boston University Medical School for over 23 years. At BU, she assisted patients who were undergoing treatment for rare and often incurable diseases. She retired from BU in 2001 and then retired permanently to White Horse Beach in Plymouth with her was an avid reader, loved museums, music, and dance. She loved going dancing with her husband on weekends and enjoyed their numerous trips to Florida. June was a “jack of all trades” and could do everything from cooking delicious meals, sewing curtains and clothing, drawing, gardening, taking care of the yard work and fixing a flat tire. She was outgoing, loving, and talkative and could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. June is survived by her loving husband, Louis P. Russo; brother, John Scott Campbell of Bradenton, Florida; children, Lois Russo of Devens, Andrew and his wife Fidelma of San Martin, California; grandchildren, Courtney and her husband Charlie, Daniel, Katelyn and Julie; great grandchildren, Paul and Edwin.
