June Ellis Dague, age 95, wife and soulmate for almost 76 years of Bruce F. Dague, Sr., died at her home on February 18, 2017, attended by her loving husband and their children: sons Bruce Jr. and wife Beth, of Bethlehem, Keith and wife Carol, of Lancaster, Dana and wife Sandy, of Nazareth, and daughter Beverly Henning, of Pittsford, NY. June was born July 10, 1921, in Altoona, PA, one of two children of the late Caroline and Edgar Ellis. She was predeceased in death by a brother, Edgar, Jr. and her son-in-law, Michael Henning. June is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Sally Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

June graduated from State College High School and attended Penn State University before marrying Bruce in 1941. During WWII, she cared for their children while Bruce served overseas in the US Navy. Afterward, she and Bruce moved to Bethlehem where he worked for 42 years at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and June became a devoted homemaker, lovingly caring for their children and volunteering for organizations such as the Y Dames, St. Luke’s Hospital, Rosemont Lutheran Church where she served as a visitor to the sick and elderly and helped with numerous projects, the Calypso Elementary School PTA, where she served as secretary, and the Girl and Boy Scouts, serving as a Brownie Leader and a Den Mother.

June had the gift of hospitality and was known for the ability to magically create a delicious meal from a meager number of ingredients and for her “you could never eat just one” nut tossies, among other mouthwatering delights. June was a beautiful woman – inside and out – who welcomed all with “Hi Honey” and a warm hug. Her love for family, friends and those in need will never be forgotten.
