June Briggs, 68, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana June was born November 1, 1940 to James Adolph and Mary (Rudecki) Sandera at St. Anthony Hospital. She grew up in New Buffalo and graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1958.
She continued her education at the Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Chicago. June married Donald Briggs on May 8, 1964 at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo. She was an awesome cook and passed along her love of cooking to her family and friends. She loved to shop garage sales and found many wonderful bargains. June was very creative, sewing outfits for her family and upholstering furniture.
She was employed as a bank teller at the local bank for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, playing the Lotto, and reading. June also loved participating in her family’s activities, and especially enjoyed the little things in life.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; children, Valerie (Dennis) Zabel and Donnie Briggs and her granddaughter, Raquel Hellenga, all of Three Oaks.
