June Frances Baney Woffenden, 88, died, Sunday, May 29, 2016 at her home in Eureka, Montana. She was born May 4, 1928 in Libby, Montana, the daughter of Sheriff Frank and Victoria Dunston Baney.
June was a beloved mother and grandmother who were deeply devoted to her family. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1952 with a Pharmaceutical degree. In 2006
she was recognized as the longest living Registered Pharmacist in Montana. She was an avid
drag racing fan and raced a 1951 Chevy truck that her father’s estate provided her. She won
many races and has a plethora of trophies and medals to show for it!
June was a full-time mother to her six children, though she worked occasionally as a relief
pharmacist. She was also a long time member of the Auxiliary of Gideons International and
delighted in putting New Testaments in the hands of the many people she came in contact with.
June was loved by all and she was an inspiration to many. She had the kindest heart and the
strongest desire to serve the Lord. Even her smile was enough to light up a room. You always
knew June was in the room because there would be an overwhelming feeling of joy and faith.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Slim Woffenden; six children, David Woffenden, Douglas Woffenden, Diane Goyins, Jeffrey Woffenden, Jennifer Jessup, Jason Woffenden; 9 grandchildren ranging from 4 to 36 years of age.
