June Ann Alden, 77, of Peoria, formerly of Galesburg and Avon, died on Sunday, December 23, 2012. June was born on June 17, 1935 in Galesburg, Illinois, the only child of Hubert and Margaret (Lowney) Rose. She married Bronald (“Bud”) Alden on November 21, 1959.
June is survived by three daughters, Amy (Kenny) Eathington of Dunlap, Priscilla Culp (Jeff Niekirk) of Manito, and Erin (Mark) Davis of Elmwood; and seven grandchildren, Adam and Tyler Eathington, Katelyn and Nicholas Culp, Brogan, Peyton, and Ella Davis. June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud on May 1, 2009 and one daughter, Mary in 1960. June graduated from Corpus Christi High School, Galesburg in 1953 and then graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing. She worked as a surgical nurse in Galesburg prior to moving to Avon. After her and Bud were married, she worked as a RN at Saunders Hospital in Avon for many years. June collected antiques and was an antique dealer for several years. She enjoyed family vacations, particularly to Topsail Island, North Carolina. June also enjoyed spending time, playing cards and socializing with her close friends in Avon and Galesburg. She was proud of her Irish heritage and communicated with her relatives in Ireland. She recently attended St. Jude Catholic Church in Dunlap and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
