Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, & uncle Julio Gonzalez, 87, has passed into eternal rest on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Julio was a proud decedent of founding families who arrived in the Rio Grande Valley in 1750.
He was born on December 20, 1930 in La Rosita, Texas to Teodoro Gonzalez & Olivia Garza Gonzalez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josie Gonzalez; sisters, Lillie Guerrero, Benilde Rosa, Emma Ramon, & Tangie Lent.
Julio is survived by his loving family to cherish his wonderful memory, sons, Joseph Gonzalez & Edward Gonzalez (Christina); grandson, Justin Gonzalez; sisters, Dora Bilano of Corpus Christi, Delia Garcia of Spring, Dr. Eliud & Zoila Fuentes of Corpus Christi, Minerva Criado of Houston, & brother-in-law, Tom Lent of Wichita, Kansas, and numerous nieces, & nephews who loved him and held him as their counselor & hero, “Don Julio.”Julio served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was also a business man & store owner for over 50 years.
