Julie Lynn Cagle, 51 of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, after a courageous
1 ½ year battle with chronic pancreatitis. Born in Morgantown, WV, Julie was the daughter of the late Frank Smith and Rosaline Smith. Julie was an active volunteer with the Jackson, TN Lodge of Elks # 192, and upon relocating to Florida, was active, later becoming a member of the Fort Walton Lodge of Elks # 1795. She had transferred her membership to the Twin Cities Lodge of Elks # 2747, where she continued to support Elkdom and served as Lodge Secretary for one year.
Besides her work with the Elks, Julie is remembered for her love of cats and her diligent work for their rescue. She created Kitty Haven, a rescue shelter for cats.
Julie also loved life, plants, landscaping, creating beautiful water falls and rock beds, the beach, yard sales and buying and selling on E-bay.
Julie is survived by her husband David P. Cagle of Fort Walton Beach, 4 children from a previous marriage, 7 aunts and 1 uncle in PA.
