Julie Kathryn McIntyre, 63, of Raleigh, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. She was born in Miami, Florida to the late James Fegley and Sara Grace Fegley.
Julie was a graduate of Richmond University and Emory University Law School. Following law school, she was a public defender for a brief time. Julie then entered the Air Force to serve as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General Corps with assignments at George AFB in California, Andrews AFB in Maryland and Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. She attended Lewis & Clark Law School where she was awarded a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law. Following her Air Force service, Julie worked in the telecommunications industry, and her last civilian job was at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control as an environmental staff attorney. Julie’s hobbies included collection of Native American art, playing and watching golf and travel.
Mrs. McIntyre is survived by her husband of 24 years, James Howard “Jim” McIntyre; step-children, James H. “Jimmy” McIntyre, Jr. & wife Mary Beth of Durham and Molly McDaniel & husband Jason of Raleigh; grandchildren, Evan & Graham McIntyre both of Durham and Connor, Dillon & Owen McDaniel all of Raleigh; siblings, Jill Kilgore & husband Jon of Atlanta, GA, Jonathan Fegley of Hawkinsville, GA and Jimmy Fegley of Athens, GA; nephews, Pace Fegley of Atlanta, GA and Wade Fegley of Washington, DC; extended family and friends.
