in view of the virus issue that surrounds us, we feel it best to avoid putting everyone that we love the most, all of you, in any situation that would compromise our collective health and safety.
Julie Ann Whitehead, a strong, loving, and beautiful woman, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on March 20, 2020 at the age of 60. Our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whom we will miss immensely.
Julie was born August 25,1959 to Della Daniels Openshaw in Payson, Utah. She grew up in Payson, Utah, attended Payson High School and then continued her education at Brigham Young University where she met her loving husband, Kyle Nielsen Whitehead.
Julie had an infectious smile and impacted countless lives. She was a beacon of light and was always able to uplift and brighten anyone’s day. Julie lived her life with such vigor and passion. She loved music, theater, dance, everything BYU, and anything that meant being with her family. She was an active member of her faith. She served with all of her heart in various callings from Primary Teacher, Ward Young Women’s President, Stake Young Women’s Counselor, to Ward and Stake Relief Society President. Through her life roles as wife, mother, daycare provider (to many who still consider her their second mom), friend, and secretary, her sphere of influence has been made manifest as we mourn the loss of our beautiful Julie. She was our greatest support and instilled in us integrity, compassion, and zest for life.
Julie is survived by her husband, Kyle, along with her children, Harmony (Jared) Gates, Aubrey (Ben) Smith, Daniel (Bethany) Whitehead, Erica (Chandler) Burgon, Brant (Laura) Whitehead, Colton Whitehead, 16 Grandchildren, her brother Richard (Barbara) Openshaw, her sister Diane (Ty) Van Nosdol, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Della Daniels Openshaw, and her brother Michael (Elaine) Openshaw.
