Julian Arthur Hunnicutt, better known as “Jay”, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday morning November 12, 2018 in Harvey, Arkansas. Jay was born October 6, 1951 in Dodge City, Kansas to Wallace and Johnnie Hunnicutt. Jay was 67 years, 1 month and 6 days old. He was a Godly man and lived by example. He was very strong in his faith and believed the in the Gospel.
Jay worked in the timber industry for 25 years. Later in life he was a community servant in many respects from being a constable, first responder, reserve deputy sheriff, serving on the Harvey-Nola fire department and he was the Chaplin for the Waldron Police Dept. Jay was also a member of the Gravelly F&AM Lodge. He was well known for his care and compassion for his fellow community members. He would help anyone in need, even those he didn’t know.
Jay leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Dianne Hunnicutt of the home, five sons: Preston Hunnicutt of Danville, Arkansas, Nick Hunnicutt of Alaska, David VanRavensway of Panama City, Florida, Steven VanRavensway of Waveland, Arkansas and Keith VanRavensway of Huntington, Arkansas. Papa will forever be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jay is also survived by his siblings: Wynona George, Naomi Noblett, Steve Hunnicutt all of Plainview, Arkansas, Clifton Hunnicutt of Danville, Arkansas, Eddie Hunnicutt of Missouri and Eugene Hunnicutt of Maine. Jay will be missed by all that knew him and those whose lives he impacted, including a host of extended family, neighbors, friends and fellow LEO brothers and sisters.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Johnnie Hunnicutt.
