Julia Kay Rumer was born July 18, 1952, to Dick and Minnie (Van Maanen) Terpstra, in Lynnville, Iowa.

On August 27, 1971, she was united in marriage to Larry Rumer in Newton, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with two children: Christopher and Heidi.

Julia was an amazing grandma, mom, and wife who dearly loved her family!  She was a welcoming, giving  person, who never knew a stranger. Julia was a talented seamstress and made personalized quilts for each of her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty years, Larry and their family:

Julia is also survived by her siblings: Alberta (the late Marion) Pol of Pella, Viola (the late Ed) Goemaat of Pella, Richard (Mary) Terpstra of Pella, Marilyn (the late Marvin) May of Pella, Vernon (Kay) Terpstra of Monroe, Virgil (Bertha) Terpstra of Pella, Ivan (Nancy) Terpstra of Newton, and Twyla Meyers of Pella; mother-in-law Betty Rumer of Thornburg; sister-in-law Shirley (Mike) Pendleton of Ankeny, and  brother-in-law Dale (Susan) Rumer of Walford.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Minnie Terpstra, father-in-law Lynn Rumer, sisters: Irene Bennick and Donna Asher, and two brothers in infancy: Wilbur and Delano.
