MENLEN, Julia Evanoff of Portage formerly of Detroit and Leesburg, FL. Julie passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. She was born January 3, 1918, in Russelton, PA, and had resided at Crossroads Village in Portage for over 10 years. On June 4, 1937, Julie was united in marriage to John A. Menlen. They raised their family in Detroit.
Following John’s retirement, they lived in Florida for more than 25 years before moving back to Michigan to be closer to family. Surviving are her 3 sons, John Cynthia of Macomb, MI, Brian Barbara of Portage, MI and Dennis Barbara of Troy, MI; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Agnes Turi of Erie, PA. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
