J. Beryl Nicholson, 92, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 18th. She was born in Indianapolis on March 8, 1927, to the late Clarence and Julia (Lombard) Birk, the youngest of seven siblings.
Beryl graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1945 and still spoke fondly of her high school years, attending reunions faithfully through her 70th in 2015. She married Louie in 1948, meeting him through friends she made while working at the American Legion Headquarters in Indianapolis. She also worked at JCPenney for a time.
Beryl is survived by her son and daughter-in-law (Bruce Nicholson and Carole Webb) along with many cousins, nieces and nephews (great and otherwise) and her Siamese cat Ko-ko.
She was preceded in death in 1988 by her husband of 40 years, Louis R. Nicholson, as well as her siblings Opal Moore, Ossie Kremer, Theodore Birk, Clifford Birk, Warren Birk and Nellie Kingen.
