Mrs. Julia Alice Dykes, age 81, of Sherman, TX, formerly of Valley, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wesley W. Dykes.
Mrs. Dykes is survived by her two daughters, Denise Allen of Gautier, MS and Dianne (Ray) Matthews of Sherman, TX; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dykes was born on May 17, 1935 in Dothan, AL. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked for the Valley Times News for a number of years, holding several positions. In years past she was very active in her church with her husband. She loved her family.
