Judy Faye Knehans, the daughter of Ula (Brooks) and Donald Luth, was born May 1, 1949 at Wood River, Nebraska. She departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 22 days.

​Judy  moved to the Riverton area as a young girl with her family where she was confirmed at the Spring Valley Church.  She graduated from the Riverton High School with the class of 1968, and continued her formal education attending Beauty School for two years and while she was living in Hastings she worked for a short time at Allen’s. After returning to the Riverton community, Judy worked as a beautician at Karen’s Magic Mirror. She later was employed for a period of time in Franklin with Recollections and with Sylvia Hamilton.

​She was united in marriage with Walt Knehans on April 8, 1972 at the Congregational Church in Riverton.  They continued to make their home in the area and this union was blessed with twin daughters and a son.  Judy was actively involved in her community and was a member of the Congregational Church, the Women’s Fellowship and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  For many years she volunteered in Franklin working Election Day. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting.  Her greatest love and joy in life was being a full-time grandma.  She cherished and looked forward to time spent with family.

​Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Walt Knehans of Riverton, Nebraska; children and grandchildren: Teresa Schmidt and husband, Scott, of Campbell, Nebraska and children Alyssa, Trenton and Addison; Tamara Scheuneman and husband, Todd, of Inavale, Nebraska and children Toby, Taylor and Tyler; and Travis Knehans and wife, Bre, of Campbell, Nebraska and children Jake, Brody and Hailee. Also surviving are her mother, Ula Luth, of Ravenna, Nebraska; two sisters, Jeanette Clement of Ravenna, Nebraska; JoAnn Luth of Kearney, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
