Mrs. Judy Angela Gibson Newton, 61, a resident of 6970 Gra-Lan Drive, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at LibertyWood Nursing Center.
Mrs. Newton was born Dec. 16, 1945 in Trinity, a daughter of Allen Gibson, Sr., and Lula Summers Gibson. There, she was a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church. Coming from Trinity, she relocated to Thomasville 20 years ago. She was a formerly employed as a secretary at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for The Triad in High Point.
Her mother preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Newton, Sr. of the home; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her father, Allen Gibson, Sr. of Seat Pleasant, MD; two brothers, Garland (Eliza) Gibson of Seat Pleasant, Md., and Allen (Patty) Gibson, Jr. of Floville, GA; one sister, June Bowden of Conley, GA; stepchildren, Harold (Evelyn) Harper of Suffolk, VA, Raymond Newton, Jr., Pastor Dale (Mary) Newton, Dexter Newton, all of High Point, Brian (Sharon) Newton of Freemont, CA, Eric (Evonne) Newton of Winston Salem, and Gloria Newton of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Josephine (Joseph) Staley of Philadelphia, PA; devoted cousin, Patricia Gripper of Stone Mountain, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
