Judy B. Rork Brassfield, the daughter of Everett and Ruby Jeffers Rork, was born on July 2, 1940 in Osceola, Iowa. She had lived several years in Fort Dodge, Iowa prior to moving to Newton, Iowa.
On July 3, 1975, Judy was united in marriage with Olan L. L. “Ole” Brassfield in Kalo, Iowa. She was a homemaker and she did volunteer work for the community and for the veterans for 40+ years. Judy was a member of the Navy Mothers of America, American Legion Post 111 Womens Auxiliary, LeFemmes and Past President of the Jasper County Vietnam Veterans Council. She loved her family and friends, she loved to cook, do arts and crafts, watch the birds and squirrels.
Judy was a loving and devoted, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend.
Judy died on Friday, October 29, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Newton. She was 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Olan “Ole” Brassfield in 2009, great-grandson, Henry Hansen and brother, Roy Rork.
Those left to cherish Judy’s memory are her children, Gary “Bubba” (Melissa) Pearson of Newton, Rob (Brenda) Pearson of Newton, Sheri Hansen of Altoona and Tina Rorabaugh (Doug Cook) of Newton; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Wade) Conover, Blake (Emily) Hansen, Colin Hansen, Mackenzie Hansen, Cody Pearson (Chelsea Holmes), Elizabeth Pearson, Christopher Pearson, Gracie Rorabaugh and Chloe Rorabaugh; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Braelyn, Forrest, Everleigh, Kaden, Karter, Adi and Arlo; and her sister, Joyce Heddinger of Fort Dodge.
